How to Optimize Your Routine and the Way You Do Business

December 25, 2015 - Bold and Brilliant Blog - , , ,

You can take some practical steps to transform your routine and the way you manage business affairs to maintain your passion and zest for your work!

An Elastic Routine

Every day, it is important for you as a purpose-driven entrepreneur to make your routine as elastic as possible; if it is feasible, you may want to change the order of doing particular activities. Learn to appreciate moments of repose during breaks with no guilt; you may find your work stimulating, but don’t forget to enjoy your life as much as you can outside of it; don’t miss out on what is going on around you; welcome variety so that you live fully and get back to work with new stimuli. Yes, I will always encourage you to adopt practices that support your vision and business objectives, but our brain and creative energy is enriched when we also enjoy spontaneity and variation.  What creates the elasticity will be different for each person.

Slowing Down

Nowadays, you are supposed to do everything quickly; yet the price you may end up paying for speed may be too high; time for calmness, reflection, evaluation, processing thoughts and feelings do not have to be sacrificed. So be patient and accept the slower pace of work that you will inevitably experience as an opportunity to unwind, remain still, and refocus.  There will be times when you will have to wait a bit longer than usual for a transaction to be completed; a few days may elapse before you receive a response from a client or colleague to move forward. A renewed perception of your preferred pace will serve you quite well when you are able to release expectations and become open to those things that might be out of your control and will not necessarily impact your life in a significant way. Do you allow time to restore energy? Do you manage the circumstances that arise well? When are your moments of being still and reflection?

Staying on Your Chosen Course

There are times that we all will be called to come to terms with sudden changes; your schedule may need to be readapted due to forces beyond your control. If this is something that could potentially take you off course, it is important to develop tools so that panic does not overwhelm you. I invite you to work towards a life approach that includes a spirit of acceptance, forbearance, flexibility, and gratitude for what you have already achieved as well as what you are able to manage. So find moments to lighten up when necessary; give yourself permission to change an opinion and try out different working methods. This is a constructive approach that will help you stay balanced, flexible, fresh, and on the chosen course to attain your goals.

Scope for Learning and Experiencing

The gains obtained from this approach are significant. You are productive in the long run. You retain your zeal and energy; you are geared towards producing steady results. In addition, you feel that you can fully participate in life in all its manifestations; building your own business should not limit your vision and life experiences; on the contrary, when you adopt a nurturing and optimized approach, the scope for learning and experiencing is wide; you grow as a creative entrepreneur and become richer in every sense of the word.
