Welcome Emotions for Mind Health – All of Them

It’s something you’ve heard before… Our diverse range of emotions need no critical judgments attached to them. They are natural and normal. They are neither negative nor positive. When you assign a negative label to certain emotions, you are setting yourself up to struggle with, resent, resist or suppress them. As you can imagine, none of these responses serve you well. It undermines the health of your mind by establishing a pattern of self-criticism and depleting precious energy. Women, for example, often reject any existence of anger or judge themselves too harshly when they recognize its occurrence in their lives.

If this sounds familiar, I encourage you to work towards accepting, normalizing, embracing and learning to manage all emotions. Stand up and shout from the depths of your soul – I am fierce and I am capable of experiencing a wide range of emotions! I welcome my emotions. I embrace my emotions. I am not controlled by my emotions. I am much more than the experiences of my emotions.
