Are you taking your gifts for granted? Then you may be forgetting what your key power source is. You are a being naturally endowed with the ability to feel, to think, to act and react. You can use your senses to enjoy life in this world; you can use your mind to make decisions, solve problems, visualize the future, and plan accordingly. You have the power to establish connections with other human beings and to build a healthy and harmonious relationship with the natural environment. You have a capacity to bounce back following moments of hardship and achieve goals that promote your well-being and benefit your community. Your intelligence, your spirit, and your determination work synergistically to make you a complete and self-reliant being.
A key attribute of your power is that you can touch the hearts of others with you own unique radiance. As Crystal Andrus Morissette aptly remarks in her interview for the Powered By Women Telesummit, you are an ‘energy being’; your power comes from the bright light you emit as an enlightened woman; your power essentially equals light and energy.
You derive your power source from the fact that:
- you are compassionate and caring;
- you have distinctive talents and strengths;
- you are eager to use them to make an impact;
- you are a being that others can trust and depend on;
- you are not afraid of going against the grain and fighting for what you believe is right;
- you respect your needs and take the needs of others into consideration;
- you accept others for who they are;
- you set boundaries in order to protect your integrity;
- you have the determination to survive trying times; and
- you don’t easily give up in the face of adversity.
Don’t forget that your life is your own. You have the power to shape it with your decisions and your choices. It is too easy to play the role of the victim. We all get tempted to do this from time to time; laying the blame for all bad things on others is convenient; but we should realize that this is actually taking our power away. It is only when we accept responsibility for our actions and recognize our capacity to magnificently transform our lives that we begin to grasp that we are meant to play an active part in the world as agents of change.
